LiLa Members-Only Code of Conduct

Effective Date: July 18, 2024

Welcome to the private members-only area of Ladies Investing / Local Angels (LiLa) at https://www.lilainvest.com. This community exists to foster open, respectful, and empowering conversations and collaboration among women interested in early-stage investing. By accessing and participating in the members-only section, you agree to abide by this Code of Conduct.

1. Our Community Values

At LiLa, we are committed to:

  • Empowerment through education

  • Supportive peer learning

  • Integrity and respect in all interactions

  • Confidentiality and trust

  • Diversity, equity, and inclusion

2. Respectful Communication

We are a values-driven community. Treat every member with respect and kindness, even when opinions differ.

Please do:

  • Use inclusive and welcoming language

  • Assume good intent but listen and clarify if something feels off

  • Encourage and support fellow members

  • Give constructive feedback, not personal criticism

Do not:

  • Use offensive, discriminatory, or harassing language

  • Talk over others or dominate conversations

  • Dismiss or belittle others’ questions or experiences

3. Confidentiality & Privacy

Members may share sensitive personal stories or investment-related discussions. What’s shared in the community stays in the community.

You agree to:

  • Not share screenshots, recordings, or messages externally

  • Respect others’ privacy—do not disclose names, emails, or financial information without consent

  • Not solicit other members without permission

4. No Solicitation or Promotions

LiLa is an educational space, not a marketplace. Do not use the platform to promote your own products, services, or investment opportunities unless explicitly invited to do so by the moderators.

Allowed:

  • Sharing resources you’ve found helpful (e.g., books, articles, tools)

  • Inviting members to relevant events with moderator approval

Not allowed:

  • Unsolicited DMs or pitches

  • Promotions or fundraising requests

5. Event Behavior

Whether attending virtual or in-person events, please:

  • Be present and engaged

  • Be respectful of the speaker’s time and others’ questions

  • Mute yourself on group calls when not speaking

  • Avoid interrupting or dominating discussions

6. Use of the Chat and Forum Areas

  • Stay on topic in designated channels or threads

  • Don’t spam or post repetitive messages

  • If a conversation becomes inappropriate or heated, flag it to moderators

7. Reporting & Accountability

If you experience or witness a violation of this Code of Conduct, please notify a moderator or email us at [Insert contact email]. We take concerns seriously and will address them promptly and discreetly.

8. Consequences of Violations

Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in:

  • A warning

  • Temporary suspension from the members area

  • Permanent removal from the community

The course of action is at the discretion of the LiLa team and is final.

9. Amendments

We may update this Code of Conduct periodically. All members will be notified of changes. Continued participation in the community signifies acceptance of the latest version.
